François
Misser is an African Energy contributing editor and works with CbI on special
projects in Africa, especially focusing on Central Africa and other Francohpone
and Lusophone countries. He is a member of CbI's AfricaHardball group.
For 25 years, François has been a journalist specialising in African political and economic issues; he has written in Belgian, British, French, German, Italian, South African and Swiss newspapers and magazines, and has published several books including Les gemmocraties, économie politique du diamant africain (with French economist Olivier Vallée), Mercenaires S.A. (with French journalist Philippe Chapleau) and mostly recently Géopolitique du Congo (RDC) (with Belgian journalist Marie-France Cros). He reports from Brussels for the BBC World Service. François' love affair with Africa started long ago: after graduating from the Ecole Supérieure de Journalisme de Lille in 1978, he worked for two years as a teacher in Côte d'Ivoire, and was part of a French expedition on African rivers from Saint-Louis (Senegal) to Mombasa (Kenya). He is a fluent English, French, Spanish and Portuguese speaker. |
